TUNING PIANOS AND PRICING

I use Reyburn software ( see
www.reyburn.com
) as does the
Sydney conservatorium. It gives you simply the best results. Gone are the sharp basses and flat trebles of old..associated with the old method of tuning. The result of the old system simply tuning the central notes ( one octave ) and then paralleling all other notes right and left of that centre octave into unison ...trouble was it never took into consideration several factors most important of which is String Stretch the other being the pianos design in the overwound thick bass strings which tend to " pull up " sharp. No more unison tuning "good enough, next one, good enough next"
the "guesstimations" of the old days are over. Using Reyburn
software all " A " notes are first recorded from which a calculation
is made after loading information like " string length " and "the
last wound string" . The software can now compensate for string
stretch from this individual recording and there by set a "scale"
for each individual piano. All individual strings are separately
tuned using no unison. The RCT tuning calculation produces a unique
scale for each piano with a resulting linear... beautiful accurate
tuning... Each piano is of a different age and condition so tuning prices
and service Prices for tuning can be as low as $50.00 for a touch up tuning.
Most pianos are quick and stable.Using "Reyburn Cyber Tuning" ( RCT
) recording and calculation of your piano with exceptional results
costing around $175 In these cases and antique pianos, using our Software I can now
calculate a tuning to suit These older piano tuning jobs are more difficult and take longer
and are around $225 a little more for grand piano. |
